For many people, appearance matters a lot. Our day begins with doing things like brushing teeth, washing face, combing hair etc. All these things involve looking in the mirror, seeing our reflection. This reflection is pleasing for many but it may be displeasing for some due to problems like accidents, birth defects etc. Many of these problems can be solved by modern surgical or non-surgical procedures. We here at Dr. A.K.’s Cosmetic Surgery center have specialized team of surgeons and dermatologists and offer our clients a comfortable experience that’s worth undergoing!
Our ENT services include the following services:
Nasal Surgery / Cosmetic Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, also called a nose job is a surgical procedure carried out on human nose. It can be done either for medical purposes, such as to improve breathing problems or nose functioning, or can be used as a cosmetic procedure in order to correct nose disfigurement or enhance the appearance of your nose.
As a cosmetic procedure, it is usually done to improve the proportion and appearance of nose in order to enhance overall facial appearance and boost self-confidence. It is also helpful in correcting birth defects or injuries as a result of some accident or trauma. The surgery can be used to alter nose’s overall size, shape, tip, bridge and nostrils.
Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure done on eyelids in order to enhance the appearance of eyes and tighten the sagging skin around the eyes. It is best option for you if you have droopy eyelids, puffy eye bags or dark circles around your eyes.
Droopy eyelids is the reason why most people opt for eyelid surgery. The surgery is meant to tighten the skin around your eyes and remove that tiresome look of eyes while enhancing your eye-beauty and giving you more alert, fresher and youthful look. It is good to turn back the aging effects of eyes and get youthful appearance.
Eyelid surgery is sometimes done in order to improve vision especially in old age by removing extra sagging skin or muscles which come in the way of vision, providing less hindered view.
Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
It is a surgical procedure that is carried out on ears to alter or improve the shape and appearance of the ears. Imperfect ears, like disfigured nose cause inferiority complex and lack of self-confidence in a person. Specially children are usually bullied at schools or play places by their peers due to such reasons and they become introverts and self-centered as a result.
The most common example of Otoplasty is treating very large and prominent ears. Protruding ears are brought closer to face by removing or folding extra cartilage of ears. It is also useful in reshaping asymmetrical or drooping ears. The surgery is also used to correct birth defects or accidental injuries.
It is a surgical procedure that is used to treat blocked sinuses. Sinusitis patients who are unable to recover their problem through medications are then suggested sinus surgery. The surgery includes using a balloon catheter that is inflated to dilate sinus openings, widening sinus passageways which as a result helps in restoring regular drainage system. In this way the mucus, that is build up in the patient’s sinuses, is then drained off and the blockage is minimized.
The benefit of balloon Sinuplasty over traditional Sinuplasty is that there’s no cutting or tissue/bone removal involved in the process.
It is a surgical procedure mainly done in order to straighten and correct the alignment of nasal septum. When nasal septum is not on its position or deviated from its original position, it can cause problems and nasal discomforts like nosebleeds, pain or even difficulty in breathing. The main reason behind a deviated nasal septum is usually the dispositioning of the cartilage in nose that separates both the nostrils.
Some people have deviated septum by birth but many people may have it after an accident or injury to nose. In case of a deviated septum, the nasal passages vary in size from each other which results in breathing problems. The nasal septum is aligned to improve and regulate the airflow through both the nostrils.
Thyroid surgery is done in order to partially or completely remove thyroid gland to treat thyroid problems. The surgery is helpful in treating thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism. When thyroid cancer is diagnosed or even suspected in a patient, doctors suggest him to undergo a thyroid surgery. Even if there’s no cancer, sometimes a non-cancerous thyroid nodule itself is large enough to cause breathing and swallowing problems. In such cases thyroid surgery is needed.
Sometimes nodule is filled with a fluid which is then drained off but some fluid-filled nodules return back even after being drained once or twice. In such cases Thyroid Surgery is then a solution to get rid of such nodules. Sometimes Hyperthyroidism also needs Thyroid Surgery and can’t be treated with medications alone.
